Why I take pictures

We are surrounded by natural beauty, but too often we miss it because we're distracted. I use my camera to capture some of those beautiful and interesting moments. Without my camera I will only enjoy that beautiful sunrise over the Pacific Ocean or the first coloring of the Fall leaves for a short time. With my camera I can take that beauty and keep it forever. 

I was born and raised in Illinois. My father enjoyed taking photos and developing them himself, and he passed the love for the camera onto me. I'm no camera guru, I certainly don't know how to develop my own photos, but it's not necessary in today's world of digital photography. I do think me and the camera make great pictures, and I'm happy to share them here with you. 

I'm not a photographer, I just like taking pictures. I love the sound of the click of a camera. When I lift my camera up to my eye and lock on something interesting, it's satisfying to take that moment in time and give it permanent existence.
